Cinnamon-Almond Pastry Swirls


  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds, chopped
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter, plus more for greasing pan
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 (17.3-ounce) package puff pastry
  • Flour for work surface


Preheat oven to 400˚F. In a small bowl, combine almonds, brown sugar, butter, vanilla extract and cinnamon. Thaw pastry dough according to package instructions. Lightly butter a baking sheet. Carefully unroll dough onto a lightly floured work surface. Spread almond mixture all over it, to the edges, and roll up tightly. Cut roll into 1-inch pieces and lay on prepared baking sheet swirl-side up. Bake for 16 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.

Serve warm and refrigerate leftovers in a sealed container for up to 3 days.
